WE WELCOME YOUR VIEWS: PROPOSED PRIORITIES FOR THE NEXT CARERS STRATEGY FOR WEST WALES

CLOSES 3RD MARCH 2025

Research shows that many people in Wales don’t see themselves as unpaid carers.

If you regularly look after a family member, friend or neighbour who may not be able to cope without some sort of help, whether it be the grocery shop or providing more intense personal support, you would be considered to be an unpaid carer.  Unpaid carers don’t always need or want support but circumstances can change, both over time or unexpectedly, leading to a possible point of crisis or deterioration of health and or wellbeing.

Unpaid carers of all ages in West Wales should be visible, feel valued and be supported. These are the proposed priorities that will form the foundation for the next Carers Strategy for West Wales and are based on the conversations that we have had with unpaid carers and organisations that support unpaid carers, over the past 9 months.
